Passage: Kumba no para laawol maakiti (Kumba is getting ready for the market)

Doo’e o yahude ka maakiti, Kumba landike jaaja makko coggu piiji yeeyeteedi ka maakiti, sabu o faalaaka be funta mo. Jaaja makko haalanii mo fow. Jooni himo anndi meetar legos ko jelu jarata; o anndii kadi tiga ko pooti yeeyirtee,ko sewi ko saamu yeeyirte e nebbam ko liitar yeeyirtee.

Passage Translation

Before heading to the market, Kumba has asked her older sister about the prices of the goods sold at the market, because she does not want to be fooled. Now she knows how much one meter of legos costs; she also knows that peanuts are sold by can, vegetables are sold by piles and oil is sold by liter.
