Passage: Gutembera no gusūra ahantu 'Traveling and visiting places'

When people plan to travel, they prepare the trip ahead of time. They make their travelling documents ready. They expect to visit different places, meet different people and be exposed to different cultures. During their stay, they need to know directions and be acquainted with the local environment. Sometimes, they may be asked directions by other people as well.

Passage

Abantu benshi bakunda gutembera bagahura n’abantu batandukanye, bakamenya umuco w’ahandi kandi bakunguka ubumenyi. Iyo abantu batembera bifuza kugira umutekano no kwishyira bakizana no kunezerwa igihe cyose n’aho ari ho hose. Kugira ngo babigereho, bakwiye gukurikira intambwe eshatu z’ibanze:

Intambwe ya mbere: Kugena umugambi w’urugendo rwa we. Ibi bisaba ko umenya ibyo ukeneye gukora ukabigirira gahunda ihamye.

Intambwe ya kabiri: Kumenya neza ahantu usura. Ni ingenzi kumenya amafaranga akoreshwa, imiterere y’ikirere (ukajyana imyambaro ikwiye). Ugomba nanone kugira ibyangomba biteguye.

Intambwe ya gatatu: gushaka inyunganizi n’ikarita y’aho usura. Gerageza kumenya ahantu uzaba n’aho uzasura hakiri kare. Ibi bizagufasha kutayoba igihe uzaba uyobowe inzira.

Passage Translation

Many people like to travel, meet different people, be in touch with other cultures, and increase their knowledge. Obviously, when traveling, people like to feel safe and comfortable, be happy anytime, anywhere. In order to b e a good traveler, you must have to follow some basic steps.

Step 1: deciding the purpose of your trip. When you decide the purpose of your trip, you know what you need to do and so you can plan your activities effectively.

Step 2: keeping in mind the place you are visiting. It is importantly advisable to know the currency, the weather (to choose your clothes accordingly). You should have all your important documents ready.

Step 3: find out a guide and a map of the place you are visiting. Try to identify where you are going to stay and the places you would like to visit. This would prevent you from getting lost when you are given directions.
