Summary: Indamutso (Greetings)

When you greet someone in Kinyarwanda, you should make sure that you are applying the right term at the right time of the day (morning, afternoon, or evening). It is always important to remember that in Rwandan culture people expect to be addressed with respect, especially elderly and people of high position in the society such as public, private, and customary administrators.

Suggestions
Always use "uraho" with your peers or people you are more familiar with.
Always use "mu" when you greet older people and authority.
Of course use "mu" when you greet many people.
Always leave people with a smile.
