Summary: Imyuga 'Professions'

This unit deals with the various kinds of professions/jobs Rwandans are involved in. On one hand, skills for some jobs are acquired from the family. For example, skills required to be able to make a pot from clay, are acquired from parents and close skilled relatives who have practiced it for a long time. In fact, because they do it over and over again, in a systematic manner, they become experts so much that it turrns to be their profession.

On the other hand, there are skills acquired from schools and other training centers which prepare Rwandans to perform certain specific jobs. These skills acquired within the country and abroad, in various fields, lead them to a number of adequate professions necessary for their advancement, in paticular, and development of the nation, in general. The names of various professions and related terms are explained in the focus and thematic vocabulary.
