Teacher Notes: Variation of greetings according to region

Note
Teacher Notes

You might have noticed the variations in morning and evening greetings either by adding “ho” at the end of the word or inserting the particle “ra” after the prefix. This happens because of the regional dialectal reality especially when you move from the Southern to Northern region. Example: waramutseho/mwaramutseho; wiriweho/mwiriweho; uramukeho/muramukeho or uraramukeho/muraramukeho. When you use somebody’s name in greetings, you should use, at the end, the word “we”. Example: Uraho Bugingo we.
