Aims
To learn how to use numbers in Kinyarwanda.
Prerequisites

Learners are expected to know the vocabulary, grammar, and the two basic verbs learned in  unit 1. They should revise how to add, subtract, divide, and multiply numbers in English.

Detailed Description

Numbering and counting play a very significant role in Kinyarwanda language. In human daily life, everything and every activity has to do with numbers in one way or the other.  Actually, they are extensively used in the household, market places in terms of selling, buying, exchanging goods and services. Eventually, they are used on a high scale in service industries transactions such as hotels, restaurants, banking and insurance systems. Numbers are used in solving numeric problems frequently encountered in real situations of life, like counting money, household items, groceries, hospitals, and phamacies, etc. We use the numbers also in various financial activities such as: payment of taxes, bills, mortgages, fine and fees. Numbers (maths)  are essentially used in Schools, Colleges and Universities as one of the core courses required by a number of academic programs. The numbers can be classified either as cardinal (kibariko) or ordinal (ngerekero).
