Grammar

I. The demonstrative adjectives 1)Examples: - Bagi on ……………………………..> Oo bagi - Paykun kun ………………………> Kun paykun - Suudu ndun …………………….> Ndu suudu - Taabal ngal ……………………..> Ngal taabal 2.) Rule: The demonstrative adjectives come from the articles and always accompany a noun. The article is placed after the noun whereas the demonstrative is before. Note the slight changes for some of them (e.g: on = Oo; ndun = ndu) II.) The demonstrative pronouns 1.) Example: - Oo bagi ……………………………..> Oo - Ndee deftere …………………….> Ndee 2.) Rule: The demonstrative pronoun is the same as the adjective; but it goes alone because it replaces the noun. PS: Depending on the position of the object, person, or animal represented by the noun, the speaker might add a word (doo, gaa, too) to locate that object, person, or animal. Example: Close Far Oo doo / Oo gaa Oo too Dun doo / dun gaa Dun too
